Light Emitting Diode (LED) Light Therapy is the application of specific wavelengths of light to the body to obtain therapeutic benefits. This process increases the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP)- the fuel that drives all cells. This boost of cellular energy results in enhanced performance of the targeted cells. Blue, red and near-infrared are the wavelengths utilized in the CellumaPro LED device used at Renewal. These specific wavelengths have been scientifically proven to produce various benefits.
This image shows the depth of penetration of the three wavelengths utilized in the CellumaPro. •Blue (465 nm) penetrates through the epidermis and is known to kill P. acnes bacteria and yeast. •Red (640 nm) penetrates into the dermal layer and has been shown to increase collagen and elastin production, increase blood circulation, reduce inflammation, and aide wound healing. •Near-infrared (880 nm) penetrates deepest and stimulates tissue repair, decreases redness and inflammation, and eases pain.

Frequently asked questions about light therapy & Celluma LED devices
How long does a LED Light Therapy session take? The LED exposure lasts 30 minutes but allow a few extra minutes for the intake consultation. How many sessions does it take to notice the effects? Subtle improvements like softer skin are typically noticed after one 30-minute session; but one session will not be enough to achieve dramatic visible changes. The best results occur after 2-3 sessions per week for 1-3 months in conjunction with a good home care regimen. Treatment plans and progress will be monitored and adjusted as needed. Membership program and rental for home use are offered. What does the treatment feel like? Soothing warmth. Despite the bright lights you will likely relax and fall asleep! Does the CellumaPro emit Ultraviolet radiation? No- only blue, red, and near-infrared wavelengths. Are the lights dangerous for my eyes? Looking directly at the lights has the potential to damage the retina. Eye protection will be provided and must be worn while the device is operating. Scheduling Guidelines? LED Light Therapy can be booked as your only service or combined with other services. To ensure enough time is available always book multiple services in advance. For online booking enter a LED session in ADDITION to any other scheduled services. How do I prepare for a LED Light Therapy session? If you are also receiving a skin treatment no preparation is required. Otherwise, please come in with recently cleansed skin- no makeup, prescription topicals, moisturizer, or sunscreen as these products can interfere with the penetration of the light. What about aftercare? There are no restrictions on what products you can use or activities you can do after an LED session. Is the service guaranteed? Results can vary due to a variety of factors outside the provider’s control; therefore, there is no guarantee you will see the results you envision.

Before & After Gallery
This client took advantage of her 4 week membership by coming in 3 times weekly. She did not receive any pro skin treatments during the month, but was consistent with her Dermalogica home care regimen. We were pleased with the results especially softening the lines in her eye area and along the nasal labial folds as well as tightening up her jawline and keeping her skin free of acne blemishes.
